Temazcal

high quality long lasting color reproduction on 200 g natural paper with a soft delicate texture
It's a memory of a beautiful ceremony of Temazcal, a South American traditional sweat lodge. I had an honour to participate in this ritual on the Encuentro de Mujeres Medicina in Chile. It is believed that the tent represents the womb of Mother Earth. We let our bodies lie down on the ground, looking at our sweat becoming one with the soil. I remember the sound of my heartbeat mixing with the incredible voices of a Mapuche women singing. The drums were reminding me of the strength of our ancestors. At the end we went out through the same door being born again. It was certainly a portal to a new reality.
