In Slavic cultures the night of the summer solstice is believed to be the special night when the ferns are blooming. During the celebrations people used to go to the forests dressed in white clothes in search of the fern flowers. Nobody knows if they really found them, but what really mattered was the way of walking. During this secret walk everything was permitted and considered holy. The forest was the guardian of the secrets of those who managed to find each other between the leaves.
